| Quote: | We have decided to invest into the AMB timing and scoring system. Please let the members know as there is a cost to this.
The system will be around $6000 plus the transponders which is our investment.
NOTE, Transponders will be required now at all race tracks in Western Canada as Saskatoon and Regina are the last two clubs to install systems this season. IT will be mandatory to have a transponder inorder to be scored this season.
We will be offering two methods available to members in order to have access to transponders, personal and rentals.
Personal transponders will cost those who wish to have their own transponder. They will be able to be registered to all the tracks and is coded to you and you only. The one time cost for the transponder is $250 Canadian. It is yours to resell, rent or keep, remember it is yours!! It can be used in any Gold Cup, Stars, IKF Nationals, Calgary. BC, Saskatoon, and Edmonton which will be required for the Nationals just about anywhere.
Members who find this to be expensive can opt to rent. The cost which is the same at most tracks is in the $20-$25 range per day. It will be the same for us here. A limited number will be available to rent.
I have more than one kart, can I use the same transponder? YES I have a family member, can he/she use it. YES.
The important thing to remember is that you can share a transponder, BUT only if it is "not" need at the same time. IN other words, if two or more people use the same unit and are in the same class, then they will need two units. If you run in seperate classes then you can share. The only trick to this is it needs to be registered this way. At larger events (ie the nationals) EACH driver requires his own transponder. It is quick and easy to move as it is clipped into place. You will require a mount on each kart, but only one transpnder.
Example 1: Keith is racing in Yamaha, ROK and Rotax in which each class is run at its own time. I would require only one transponder and it would be registered in each class.
Example 2: Keith runs restricted ROK at the Club level, and lends his second kart to Driver X who would be running in the same class at the same time, Driver X requires a second transponder.
if you have any questions concerning this system or the costs involved, please let me know. Keith

Another improvement that we can all look forward to. Yes, there is a cost but the accurate timing will be a big benefit for driver development and kart tuning. _________________ Jacques Back! |
